The nine Democratic freshmen House Representatives are calling upon the Senate to pass HB 2261, the Basic Education reform bill. The bill passed out of the House last week includes bolder and more sweeping reform than SB 6048, the bill passed out of the Senate. In a letter to Senate Majority leader Lisa Brown and Senate K-12 and Early Learning Committee Chair Rosemary McAuliffe, the class of 2009 representatives asked that the Senate adopt the more robust bill.

Read the press release from Rep. Marcie Maxwell (D-Renton), who organized the representatives to write the letter. You can read the full letter here.
