Legislative Luncheon – Washington is in the Race to the Top

Yesterday, Stand for Children joined with the Excellent Schools Now coalition to host a legislative lunch where education leaders presented a legislative agenda to make Washington competetive for up to $250 million in federal Race to the Top funds.

Bill Gates Senior stated, “Even if money were not on the table, the Race to the Top reforms — setting high expectations for students, getting great teachers and leaders, using data for improvement, and helping struggling schools — are the right steps to  ensure every Washington student has the tools needed to succeed  after high school.”
